PFH presents new course UX Design

Building a digital infrastructure, comprehensively digitizing business processes and developing new, digital products and services:  these are the challenges companies and organizations are facing. The user perspective and creating a good user experience (UX) is central to all digitization measures. The PFH Private University of Applied Sciences in Göttingen has therefore launched the master’s program “User Experience Management & Design, M.Sc.” developed, which will start in the summer semester of 2022.

In the three-semester, hybrid master’s program “User Experience Management & Design”, students learn the management and design of digital products and services – from the business idea to the development and marketing of a finished digital product or service. “We teach the students practice-oriented and well-founded interdisciplinary knowledge of management, psychology and technology, because the design of user-oriented digital services is becoming an increasingly complex task,” says Prof. Dr. Frank Albe, President of the PFH. “With the new course, we are closing a gap and enabling a modern, interdisciplinary education,” Albe continues.

The course was developed based on the ideal role of the “digital designer” of Bitkom eV, the industry association of the German information and telecommunications industry. According to Bitkom, “digital designer” is one of three future job descriptions in the field of digitization. The course content of the PFH is based on the requirements of companies and organizations.

Master’s degree for full-time students and professionals

The course is aimed at bachelor students from various disciplines, such as business administration, psychology and business informatics/computer science. “Each of the target groups has a different competence profile. Due to their existing previous qualifications, the students do not have to be taught all the necessary competencies of the digital designer, but we build on the existing qualifications individually,” says Ebermann. In addition, skills that have not been taught in any of the previous courses are taught together. Both full-time students and professionals can complete the master’s degree. The curriculum was structured in such a way

Studies start on April 1st and October 1st of each year. The application period for the summer semester runs until the end of March 2022.
