Germany: The Ideal Study Destination

Germany: The Ideal Study Destination

The world has become a global village. Modern-day connectivity has made it all the simpler for people to explore other cultures and taste success in a superior work environment. With that objective, Germany has proved to be a heaven in terms of education as well as job opportunities for Indian students. It has a population of around 8 crores and is similar to the Rajasthan state area. But the GDP of Germany is $3.85 trillion. Not only this they have at present around 12,00,000 open job positions.

For international students, Germany has become a desirable place of education and employment. According to the figures given by Germany Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), at least 330,000 international students are enrolled at German universities. Out of this number, Indian students form the third largest group of international students in Germany. As per the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, there were 25,149 Indian students enrolled in Germany.

Promising Location for Overseas Students

Germany stands as a promising location for overseas education in terms of offering quality education at an affordable price for international students, low living costs and availability of scholarships. Also, it offers a practice-oriented education and its government has made arrangements to facilitate part-time work for students.

Easy Work Permit

To attract talented workers around the world, Germany and the EU have introduced the EU blue card which is similar to a Permanent Resident permit for specially skilled employees. With this one can live, work and settle in any of 26 European Countries. In Germany, the fields that are experiencing a shortage of workers are Engineering, Natural sciences, Mathematics, Information and communication technologies, Architecture and interior design and more.

As the fifth-largest economy in the world, Germany can offer international students with specialist skills plenty of work opportunities after graduation. To make this process smoother, various German universities like PFH University, Technical University Ilmenau, Jacobs University, KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Technical University of Munich and many other universities offer programs to study work and settle in Germany:

  • New Mobility – Micro mobility
  • Industrial Engineering
  • UX UI Design
  • Digitalisation and Automation
  • Supply Chain Management
  • AI, ML and cyber security

German universities stress a practice-oriented approach to complement academic teaching, which adds to its popularity among global learners, who seek outcome-oriented learning. To ensure students gain theoretical and practical knowledge throughout the course, various German universities partner with companies. This ensures that students graduate with the polished skills and theoretical know-how which help them become highly employable and ready to solve real-world problems with innovative techniques.

Therefore, India is the fastest-growing economy, India enjoys a fantastic reputation in the world today and Germany has been a pillar of academia for ages. The amalgamation of Indian intellect with German technology can prove to be an excellent team. This emergence of collaboration can prove to be a stepping stone for both countries to benefit mutually.

Micromobility a Rising Career Opportunity for Students

Micromobility a Rising Career Opportunity for Students

Post-pandemic, there is an increase in micromobility vehicles, people are now more inclined towards socializing with responsibility. E-bike sales in Europe and the United States exploded after Covid 19. Low-emission transport solutions such as e-scooters, e-bikes, and regular bicycles come with a benefit. If you want to opt for a sustainable future micro-mobility is one of the best tools to cut or remove harmful greenhouse gases. 28% of total emissions is transport related, with current scenario micromobility has become the need of hour. If we make changes in our transportation networks, we will be making progress toward a sustainable and environment friendly future.

Over the last few years, the rise in micromobility companies such as ofo, mobike, citi bike, and jump bike have also increased the interest of consumers in convenient options for transportations. Small, lightweight vehicles like bicycles, e-bikes, electric scooters, electric skateboards, shared bicycles, and electric pedal assisted (pedelec) bicycles are trendy among youngsters for last-mile transportation. According to a survey conducted by McKinsey Center for Future Mobility in July 2021, 70% of respondents are willing to use micromobility vehicles for their exhibit.  It is anticipated that the micromobility sector will be worth $300 to $500 billion by 2030 as per Mckinsey & Company. Thus, in the coming years, a steep rise in the number of jobs available in this sector will be seen across the globe.

For students who want to pursue their career in the automobile sector especially in micromobility overseas, Germany is the most likeable and preferable option for any international student, the reason behind this is the availability of finest technologies and job opportunities to the students. There are several options available for students who want to study automobile related courses. Leading automobile companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW are working towards new mobility – micromobility.

Requisite Skills

If one has courage to perform in challenging areas, then micromobility programmes are alluring career choice. To get enroll in these programmes students must has required few basic skills:

·       First Class Bachelor Degree

·       Fluent Communication Skills

·       Command over Technical Knowledge

·       Eagerness to have a Global Career.

Some of the skills mentioned above will definitely help the talent to find exciting opportunities and shape their future in desired direction.

Engineering is the main motivation for students to study abroad. The stream is extremely well known among the students.  With so much excitement and competitiveness, the profession of micro-mobility is continually increasing its scope and potential across the globe. Students who want to pursue their career in innovation and manufacturing, can choose colleges for example: –

·        Mobility Systems Engineering & Management at KIT Karlsruhe Germany.

·        New Mobility – Micromobilty at PFH Stade (Hamburg) Germany.

·        Automotive Systems at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences Esslingen Germany.

·        Electric Vehicle Propulsion and Control at Kiel University Germany.

Today’s generation is more focused towards living a healthy lifestyle, but because of their busy schedules they don’t get enough physical exercise in their daily routines. Thus micro-mobility solutions like bicycles to commuting for work can become best alternatives for physical exercise.

Career in Mechatronics and Robotics

Career in Mechatronics and Robotics

Mechatronic and Robotics engineers work with one of the most rapidly developing industries of the modern age. They are concerned with the concept, design, development and operation of robots, whether that be robot arms in manufacturing or assistive devices for healthcare and self-driving cars or unmanned aerial vehicles for surveying crops. They are involved in the design process and solving problems from the start, whether that be using a robot to solve the problem, or producing more efficient designs for better performing robots.

For example, the engineer might be tasked with programming a robot to navigate around a person’s home while vacuuming. This requires mastery of a wide range of skills. No home is the same, and the robot will have to cope with a complex environment. Therefore it will have to use sensors to detect obstacles. The engineer will have to process this data to remove noise and determine the positions of objects. In order to clean the entire area, the robot will need to plan the shortest path that covers the space. All the time, the onboard processes will need to be managed, keeping a careful eye on whether it needs emptying and how much charge is left in the batteries. A Mechatronics and Robotics engineer is an expert across all the areas of managing how robots work in their intended environment.

Qualities Required

These engineers are thorough system thinkers, able to look at a problem using a number of different techniques, and design solutions that satisfy complex and potentially conflicting requirements. As a rule, the engineer will have a wide array of skills — programming languages, analysis tools or building techniques . Each problem will require them to select those skills that are most suited.

A key ability is to be able to work with a wide-range of people with different skills and backgrounds. They need to be communicators and explain concepts easily whether it is to a more senior colleague during a presentation or while mentoring junior colleagues.

A degree in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering opens many career pathways. As systems thinkers, they are very highly valued as they are adaptable and capable of solving a wide range of complex problems thinking at both high-level while retaining an eye for detail and analysis. Typically graduates go on to successful careers in manufacturing, automation, automotive engineering, aerospace, healthcare and medical technologies , and more.
